Gorlang's first memory is of waking up covered in blood, surrounded by corpses. As he stood up the wound to the top of his head throbbed and as he took in his surroundings he noted the many goblin corpses and the number of elvish arrows peppering the corpses of what he assumes were his kith and kin. Making his way round the village he gathered some few possessions and noticed the dead wolves in the breeding pens and the faint mewling he could hear. Wandering over he saw that one of the cubs, uninjured, was sat whining in the midst of the carnage. Reaching down, the cub allowed himself to be picked up and leaving the wreckage behind they both set out into the wilderness, leaving the gutted camp behind. About a week later his head still thundering with pain Gorlag, dizzy from the blow to the head and his inability to locate food collapsed by an old shrine. It was a few days latter and after several fevered dreams that he awoke in a strange place. An blind human hermit named Harma a cleric of <<insert appropriate deity here>>Lord of Battle, had found him at the shrine and healed him. At first Gorlang had considered killing the blind old fool and looting his possessions, but over this convalescence he grew to respect the old priest, his many stories and his kindness. Gorlang learned much from Harma including his love of <<deity>> and eventually Gorlang devoted himself to <<deity>>. Together they also trained Canrick to obey simple commands and allow Gorlang to ride him. Some time latter a group of adventurers approached the shrine and on seeing Gorlang chased him back to the hermit's hut. Harma stepped out to meet the group, calmly explaining that the goblin in his home was a worshiper of <<deity>> and not evil. The four adventurers scoffed at this and moved to enter the hut. Harma interposed himself and told them to depart, but the group attacked instead. Despite his blindness Harma was still a mighty warrior and a blessed priest of <<deity>> and as he prepare to take on the group he called out. 'Gorlang get you gone from this place, I should have no trouble with these fools, but I cannot protect you as well.' 'Master let me help you!' 'In this you are my subordinate, by <<deity>>'s teachings obey my command!' Unable to break the teachings of <<deity>> Gorlang fled while his master stood alone against the group. Two days later he returned to find his master dead, the ground around the hut was torn and trampled and splattered with blood and his master's body had been pinned to a tree. Taking the time to bury his master, Gorlang then set out after the group, knowing he was not strong enough to stand against them directly he used the hit and run tactics his master had described, using deception and with Canrick at his side he stalked the group, disrupting their supplies and rest, hampering them and leaving traps. Eventually after killing three in swift strikes when they were alone he caught up to the last, an elven wizard, who had attempted to run at the end. Unable to rest and focus the wizard had no magic to call upon and it was a short battle with Canrick striking from behind the elf while Gorlang struck from the front. It has been a few years since his return to the community of his own kind and his new thoughts and god have marked him out as different, but also capable. He has found he does not have the sense of joy at needless cruelty he once had and holds a firmer sense of his own place in the world. In many ways Canrick has had a harder time adjusting. Despite the training provided he still remains a wild animal at heart as a few goblins with missing fingers can attest.
